Now that you’ve met Kabüki, it’s time to get down to business! Today they tell us about their song “Ballet”.
“While most of Kabüki’s songs are fun and energetic, with Ren (lead guitars) being the main composer, the more emotive ‘Ballet’ was written by Sonus (bass guitars) and it’s become a fan favourite.
The lyrics of ‘Ballet’ speak about the process of transformation; a metaphorical dance which we each perform before every concert – namely, the way we use our make-up and clothing to take on a new identity.
Sonus’ character pays tribute to nature, as seen on the pink leaves on his make-up design. On this beautiful single cover, made by @imthepopmonster, we can see an interpretation of Sonus’ transformation, with his make-up leaves leaving his face to become part of a tree.
